The Kim Alexander Fullerton Barrister and Solicitor Professional Corporation (KAFBS) is a law firm that only represents First Nation clients. Kim has practiced law for 30 years and in First Nations law for 24 years.
The firm actively advocates for First Nation’s interests in specific land claim negotiations and has many successful settlements in this regard. We also provide advice and draft trust agreements for clients.
Land Claims
We assist First Nation clients in all aspects of the claims process and advocates tirelessly in their behalf. The Kim Alexander Fullerton Barrister and Solicitor Professional Corporation has been involved in many of Canada’s largest specific claims settlements and has successfully represented the First Nation claimants.
The new specific claims tribunal is also an area that we can provide representation for First Nations clients. Researching claims is another area where we have proven expertise, so that we can represent First Nations from the beginning of the claims process to conclusion.
Other
Although providing representation all aspects of the clams process is a focus of the firm it provides advice and counsel in many other legal issues, including Impact Benefit Agreements (IBA), negotiations with major corporations such as Ontario Power Generation (OPG), Hydro One (HONI), Canadian Nation Railways (CN), Union Gas and Bell Canada. KAFBS has also written membership codes, election codes and land use codes for First Nations.
